Camp John Hay, Baguio- In collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) -Baguio’s Bravest, John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) organized a two-day seminar and training which was conducted in 13-14 October 2022. The two-day event focused on basic life support (BLS) and fire safety training, designed to equip JHMC employees with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively in the event of an emergency.
Under the supervision of SUPT. Nestor C. Gorio, Baguio City Fire Director, the training was facilitated by FO3 Rafael Antonio D. Gardose, FO3 Kipler M. Balagsa, FO2 Edison P. Dangsian, FO2 Mark Roldan Mablay, and other BFP personnel. It demonstrates JHMC’s commitment to its mandate of maintaining Camp John Hay as a safe tourism destination, primarily by empowering its personnel to be capable and competent emergency responders.
The training covered a variety of topics, including pre-medical care, disaster preparedness, incident command service, appropriate bandaging, and carrying (types of carries), among others. To ensure that the participants followed through, demonstrations were also conducted afterwards.
An emergency simulation drill encompassing the discussed subjects was organized as the training’s capstone. This was to allow the participants to put into practice what they had learned and also for the BFP personnel to assess their performance. END
