John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) led by its Business Development Department (BDD) in collaboration with Pasakalye Group of Artists represented by Executive Director Maricar A. Docyogen hosted a painting contest with the theme βInhale the Hues of the Natural World.β The event aims to promote not just the adoration for natural art pieces but also the traditional perspectives and techniques of local artists.
The contest was conducted at the Bell House veranda and judged by JHMC OPCEO Atty. Marlo Quadra, VPCOO Jane Theresa Tabalingcos, and retired public servant, now a Creative Baguio City Council member, Art Tibaldo.
A total of 30 artists participated in the competition and after awe-inspiring appraisals from the judges and a strenuous deliberation, three paintings were chosen to be the most heartfelt and imaginative: pieces made by Gracia Banasan, Angelica Rosalin, and Janella Pidazo, declaring them as the top three winners of the contest.
The winning artists will be recognized and given awards on November 25, 2024, alongside the 121st CJH Anniversary Celebration and the Bell House Lighting Ceremony.
In line with JHMCβs commitment to the community, the winning pieces will be put up for sale. The earnings will be shared as profit for the artists and a donation to a deserving beneficiary bravely battling cancer.
All 30 paintings are currently exhibited at the Bell House and available for the public to admire.
