Camp John Hay, Baguio City – Upholding its commitment to environmental stewardship, the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) actively participated in the Simultaneous Clean-up Drive held on June 5, 2024, in Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet, alongside other participants.
Observed in different areas of the Cordillera, this region-wide activity aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage everyone to help in the preservation of our natural surroundings. Led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)- Cordillera, the activity was held in commemoration of World Environment Day themed, ‘Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience’.
JHMC joined other volunteers and participants, which include those from the DENR-CAR, MGB-CAR, Camp 4 Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Camp 6 BLGU, NorthCom Agency, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-CAR), Baguio Water District (BAWADI), Barangay Health Workers (BHW), National Irrigation Administration (NIA-CAR), Tuba LGU, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Tuba.
A significant quantity of waste, primarily consisting of plastics and discarded clothing, was collected.
JHMC representatives, along with On-the-Job trainees (OJTs) from Benguet State University and members of the NorthCom Agency, proudly strike a pose together after the clean-up was concluded.
JHMC believes in the power of teamwork and collaboration. The involvement of the corporation in cleanup activities is a testament to its commitment to environmental conservation. This shared responsibility fosters a sense of ownership and accountability for our environment.
